Face Procedure FAQ

What is the Fusion CRF Face procedure?

The Fusion CRF procedure uses Radiofrequency technology. It has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift the skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. The incision-free procedure is fast and easy and requires no downtime from normal activities. Unlike lasers, the procedure can be performed on patients of all skin types.

How does it work?

The Fusion CRF system uses a sophisticated solid gel tip, which delivers a controlled amount of RF energy. With each touch to the skin, the gel tip device uniformly heats a large volume of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and its underlying tissue while simultaneously protecting the outer layer of the skin with cooling. This deep, uniform heating causes structures deep in the skin to immediately tighten. Over time, new and remodelled collagen is produced to further tighten the skin, resulting in healthier, smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.

What happens during the procedure?

Initially the face will be cleansed with Spray Mist. A special pad will be placed on the back to complete the “circuit” for the RF energy. The patient will lie on a treatment couch and the area to be treated will be covered with a patented topical gel – Relaxel Gel – to minimise any discomfort. ZIP will be applied to the skin to help the handpiece glide over the face.

A solid gel pad will be placed on the handpiece tip. This patented solid gel tip ensures complete and uniform treatment. Some areas will require more “passes” than others to achieve the desired results.

During the treatment the patient will be asked to provide feedback on the level of heating felt from the RF pulses.

This feedback allows the best selection of RF energy levels to be used and makes certain the patient remains comfortable throughout the procedure. Once the treatment is completed, the solid gel pad is removed and disposed of.

What does the procedure feel like?

With RF energy emission, the patient will experience a brief, deep heating sensation as the RF energy is delivered to the skin and underlying tissue. This deep heating sensation is the patient’s indication that collagen is reaching an effective temperature for tightening.

The operator controls the amount of energy delivered to balance procedural comfort with maximum results.

The solid gel handpiece tip device is cooled before, during, and after heating to protect the skin and make the treatment more comfortable.

How long does it take?

The Fusion CRF procedure can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and the number of passes required. Additional time may be required for skin preparation prior to the procedure.

What will the skin feel like after the procedure?

Immediately following a Fusion CRF procedure, the skin should feel tighter, smoother and more youthful. Over time, the patient will notice additional tightening.

How many treatments will be needed?

Unlike many other procedures, a single Fusion CRF treatment has produced results in the majority of patients. The operator will recommend the number of treatments necessary to achieve the best results. Usually between 4 and 8 sessions will be required.

When will the patient see results?

Recently published studies show that measurable tightening improvements appear gradually over 2 to 6 months after a treatment. However, many patients have reported seeing an earlier response.

How long will the effects of the Fusion procedure last?

The Fusion CRF procedure causes immediate tightening of the collagen structure, with additional tightening over time. Unpublished reports by experienced cosmetic physicians indicate that results may last 24 months or longer, based on the patient’s natural ageing process.

Is the Fusion CRF procedure safe?

Fusion CRF has an excellent safety record. The most frequently reported incidents are classified as swelling, redness, bumps and blisters on or around the treated area. These side effects have usually disappeared in a few days.

How long before the patient can return to normal activities?

Most people return to their regular activities immediately following the Fusion CRF procedure. Some people experience mild redness (like a sunburn), but it usually disappears quickly. No special care is needed after treatment.

Can Fusion CRF be used on other areas of the body where skin tightening is needed?

Fusion CRF is gaining increased public awareness of its ability to tighten loose skin especially on the stomach and arms. Fusion CRF has proved it can tighten those areas which no amount of exercise will touch. An effective treatment for tightening loose areas of skin on the body.

Benefits and Advantages?

Most importantly, there is no recovery or patient downtime. Patients may return to work directly after the procedure. Secondly, choosing Fusion CRF for skin tightening means no cutting, surgical drains, sutures or bruising. Thirdly, Fusion CRF is a less costly, non-invasive method. Lastly, there is no special follow-up regime.

Who is the ideal Fusion CRF candidate?

An ideal candidate for this skin tightening technique is a person with minimal loose tissue who is a borderline facelift candidate. Such patients could avoid a facelift if they were treated early on with Fusion CRF.

Fusion CRF can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures. For instance, sun-damaged skin could be tightened, and then treated with a Photofacial procedure or de-pigmentation programme to provide even pigmentation.

The device can also selectively target areas still loose after a facelift.

Body Procedure FAQ

How does Fusion CRF get rid of cellulite?

The machine uses cavitational ultrasound and radiofrequency. Cavitational low frequency ultrasound waves propagate in skin freeing dissolved gas in the form of tiny bubbles, causing cellular and fibrosis disruption.

Radiofrequency heats up fat cells, breaking them apart and sending them to the lymph nodes for the body to dispose of naturally. By reducing the number of fat cells and affecting the intra-fat structure, the treated area becomes smoother and more elastic.

The Radiofrequency also causes a mild contraction that visually lifts and firms the area, especially noticeable in the buttocks.

How much improvement can be expected?

All patients treated in our case studies demonstrated an improvement in cellulite appearance as well as reduction in the hip circumference. Average improvement for all patients on the appearance of cellulite was 73 per cent.

Hip measurements were reduced 3.4cm on average, and all patients reported feeling skin contraction as a result of the treatment.

What’s a Fusion CRF treatment like?

Initially the body area to be treated will be cleansed with Spray Mist. The patient will lie on a treatment couch. A special pad will be placed on the back or close to the treatment area. This pad completes the “circuit” for the RF energy.

ZIP product will be applied to the skin to enable the handpiece to move easily over the areas of body to be treated. The operator will pass the Coax CRF hand piece over the area with the cellulite and excess fat and this may be repeated a number of times.

The patient will feel the massaging action of the ultrasound and warmth as the Radiofrequency penetrates to the fat layer in the skin.

Since this is an intensive treatment, and far beyond the ineffective spa-type procedures, there is typically some level of discomfort.

How many treatments are needed?

The number of treatments varies for each individual, but typically a series of 12, performed weekly or every two weeks, offers measurable as well as visible improvement. Each treatment generally takes 30 to 45 minutes.

How is Fusion CRF different from other cellulite machines?

Other types of cellulite reduction equipment offer only massage and suction, rendering it far less effective. Since the ultrasound and radio frequency of Fusion CRF. CRF actually cause cellular and fibrosis disruption and heats the fat cells, the effect is one of dispersal and removal of the cells – not simply a breaking up of some of the hardened tissue.

Is there downtime?

No. Fusion CRF requires no time “off”. Patients may return to regular activities immediately.
